Fake Chrome OS Beta

“Wait a minute, Chrome OS ships with the Gnome desktop environment, OpenOffice, and GIMP? I thought the whole point was that it was purely web-based?

Update: Ah-hah, it’s a fake. Just some scammers hosting on Google Sites. No wonder I was confused. I can’t imagine that Google is OK with this.”

What a 140-char message looks like in RSS

I have a lot of respect for Dave Winer and have been following his thoughts on the future of Twitter.  I hope people listen to what he has to say.

“Here’s a screen shot to contemplate.  There are two 140-character messages. Each illustrates features of the new shipwreck I hope to sink, to create a new coral reef for Twitter-like systems to grow on and around.” – Dave Winer via scripting.com

MIT Develops Electronic Tags to Track Waste

“Just as barcoding trees could help save forests, electronically tagging trash could limit waste. That’s the thinking, at least, behind MIT’s Trash Track program, that will use electronic tags to track waste in its trip through the disposal systems of New York and Seattle.” – Ariel Schwartz via fastcompany.com

The revolution will not be televised

Re post: “Announced last week in Nature Magazine, MIT Researchers have developed new lithium batteries that take less time to charge than it just took you to read this sentence.  Clocking in at 10 seconds or less, these new turbo-batteries also discharge energy quickly.  Imagine this:  You’re cell-phone dies, or your laptop.  Instead of waiting hours, you can be fully charged in seconds!” via SuperForest.
