River road

When it rains really hard, the road by my house turns into a river. All that water has to go somewhere and I am near the top of a hill!

Anaconda

We went to a circus last night.  Its from Guatemala and is in town for a couple of weeks.  It was very second rate but was an amazing experience.  The main attraction advertised – in the van running around town with a speaker on the roof – was an anaconda.  But they only brought it out right at the end.  All they did was bring the snake out, put it on the ground.  Turn all the lights off to scare everyone… for quite a while the lights were off.  Then they turned the lights on, we clapped (all 30 of us in the tent designed for about 200), and then they took the snake away.  3 mins earlier they did a similar thing with a monkey.  They brought the little monkey out, carried it around for 30 seconds and took it away again.  The two things that interested me the most were the two shortest things.

I had heard that you could get a photo with the anaconda.  They didnt offer it at the end of the show, but as we were leaving i asked the guy who brought the snake out earlier and he said it was no problem.  They only didnt let everyone know because the day before the snake had eaten 5 chickens and was very heavy.  It did look incredible – you could see the lumps of the 5 chickens in its belly.  They brought the snake back out for us and we patted it.  It was scaly.  If you patted the wrong way you would lift the scales up.  It was beautiful.  They put it on our shoulders and took a photo.  One of the clowns also took a photo for us with my camera which you can see in the gallery.  Wow.  Anaconda.  They reckon it wasnt dangerous because it was full.  At one point its head came an inch away from my crotch.

Photos and video from the circus here.
